Donor part - region

30/04/19

The donor region heals for 7 days, and before it heals there is only a slight redness. The gauze is removed immediately, the next day, and patient can start washing this region, but not the region where the hair is implanted. The donor region can be from the chest, chin and other parts of the body and can also be transferred to those parts, at the request of patients.

When there are situations in which the donor region is weak or too overused in previous interventions, other donor regions can also be used. It’s usually the beard or the neck. The hair from the chin, neck area is very similar to the one on the head, it can be thicker, it grows slower and it is very useful because it gives the impression of density. If hair is used from the donor area, the existing beard on the face retains its density and remains intact.

In frequent situations, chest hair is also used. Men who have a problem with hair loss generally have a lot of hair on the chest and all over the body.

Transplantation can cover a significant area. These hairs grow slower, to a certain extent, but sometimes they represent an excellent solution. This region is not used as donor in cases where there is a tendency to develop keloids. Parts of the body, such as the stomach, legs, back, hands, hairs are rarely used, but these regions are not excluded as donor ones. If hair is used from the body, care must be taken of the non-exposure to the sun in the days after the intervention, as well as the skin, in order to get it well and heal properly.

These regions can be used at the special request of patients, although the advantage is always given to the back part of the head, safe region, with the highest density and with the greatest regeneration possibility.
